About the Network

 

The Asian Philanthropy Advisory Network is an ambitious partnership of giving experts who have agreed to share their opinions and forecasts to benefit philanthropists and the field of overseas giving in and to Asia.

Made up of philanthropy leaders based in financial and business capitals in Asia, Australia, and the United States, the Network features executives of prestigious organizations working to help donors meet the unique challenges of overseas giving, from illuminating evolving rules and regulations on giving, to providing strategies for dealing with rapidly shifting on-the-ground realities.

THE NETWORK’S ORIGINS

The Asian Philanthropy Advisory Network continues the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium’s role as a research pioneer and thought leader; former board members of APPC comprise the Network, which was formed in 2011 after Give2Asia acquired APPC.APPC was founded in 1994 as an independent association of philanthropic institutions and organizations that supported the growth and development of philanthropy in the Asia Pacific region. The mission was to increase the quality and quantity of philanthropy for Asia by strengthening the institutional infrastructure and improving the operating environment for the philanthropy sector. Since 2001, Give2Asia has served as a premier philanthropic service organization helping to improve the quantity and quality of charitable giving for Asia.Give2Asia delivers world-class services that enable transformative philanthropy for Asia, combining exceptional stewardship with comprehensive, on-the-ground knowledge to promote actions benefiting Asian communities.  China Development Brief

China Development Brief is dedicated to providing news and information that strengthens China’s civil society organizations. CDB was established in 1996 is China’s longest-running independent nonprofit organization reporting on and promoting civil society developments in China. Currently CDB publishes a quarterly Chinese-language issue, maintains online resources and provides consulting for non-profits. In 2011, CDB launched the CDB (English) Translation Project to empower China’s civil society by sharing the latest developments in China’s nonprofit sector with the international community. CDB (English) provides English-language resources to international readers who wish to understand, support and participate in China’s rapidly growing nonprofit community. These resources include translations of CDB articles, laws and regulations governing the nonprofit sector, and directories of non-governmental organizations.
